Gazette CPD: January 2011

Training Provider: The Law Society
The Gazette’s CPD scheme enables you to gain CPD hours by answering questions based upon your comprehension and understanding of material published in the UK’s leading legal weekly, the Law Society’s Gazette.

The content for each Gazette assessment has been developed by Peter Camp. Peter is a solicitor and the principal of his own training consultancy, Educational and Professional Services. He is the visiting professor of Legal Ethics at the College of Law.

Assessment Format
Each month (with the exception of August and December) we will be setting an assessment consisting of 15 questions based upon four articles published in the previous month’s Gazette (both hard copy and online) which is worth 1 hours’ CPD. In order to claim your hour you must achieve a pass mark of 80%. Your answers will be marked online as soon as you submit them.

This assessment will automatically be added to your personal 'Record' area once your online payment is complete ready for you to access.

You can revisit the assessment as often as you like within the 90 days you have from the date of purchase. However, think carefully before submitting your answers as you only have 2 attempts to do so.

The January assessment questions are based upon the following Gazette articles:

• "Storms forecast", Law Society Gazette, 6th January 2011, page 08
• "Libel success fees - myth and reality", Law Society Gazette, 13th January 2011, page 14
• "Practice Points: Pick and mix", Law Society Gazette, 20th January 2011, page 20
• "Are solicitors really better at drafting wills?", Law Society Gazette online, 14th January 2011

Prerequisites

In order to answer the assessment questions you must be able to access the selected articles through http://www.lawgazette.co.uk or the Law Society Gazette magazine.
