Rule 6 of the Solicitors’ Code of Conduct imposes a duty on solicitors not to discriminate in their professional dealings on the grounds of race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, age or disability. It also requires practices to implement a policy to prevent discrimination and promote equality and diversity within the firm.
This course, which has been updated to take account of the provisions of the Equality Act 2010, explores how managers and supervisors can comply with discrimination legislation and manage diverse teams effectively. The course has been developed with input from employment law specialists at Bevans Solicitors and HR experts at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Course Format
Designed for the individual this online course worth 1 hour CPD comprises:
• An interactive presentation to help you learn the content of the course
• Case studies and photo-drama sequences to engage learners and develop their understanding of the practical implications of the key legal issues and concepts.
• A final online assessment consisting of 12 questions; in order to pass the assessment you must achieve a mark of 80%. Your answers will be marked online as soon as you submit them.
The course will automatically be added to your personal 'Record' area once your online payment is complete ready for you to access.
You can revisit any element of the course as often as you like with the 90 days you have to complete the course.
